SMOKE IN A GERMAN BUNKER
Aside from looking for ghost and spirits our other passion is World War II. We have recently been going to France and Belgium visiting the old German bunkers. They are an amazing piece of history and great to visit. Many are now derelict but you can still get into them. However there are still some that are still intact.

A while ago we went to France. We went to visit the bunkers at Bray Dunes on the border of France and Belgium. When we got there and stepped onto the beach we couldn't believe it! We were expecting to see just one bunker but there were several of them dotted down the beach. A few of them had collapsed and almost buried in the sand. But as we made are way to the one that looked the biggest it seemed pretty intact still.
We had to climb the sand dunes to get to the top of it and when we looked down on the other side of the dunes it was almost like a very small village of buildings. There was little bunkers and rooms going off everywhere. We had the video camera and were filming it all. We were impressed by what we saw. You could only imagine how big the guns would have been that fitted into these pillboxes!!

We went inside the large bunker and we walked round. There were stairs going down further into the bunker. One of us went down to have a look. I personally gave that a miss because you had to crawl through a hole in a gate that was covering it! Plus it was very dark. I went off into a room on my own to have a look and film a big spider that was painted onto the wall. Two of my friends were off exploring so I was left on my own. I didn't feel scared because it wasn't scary at all.

We watched the video back the next day that I had filmed whilst on my own at the bunker site. We were totally shocked to see a small bit of what looked like smoke coming down from the top of the screen. We kept rewinding it to see if we could actually see what it was. But to all of us it just looked like smoke. The weird thing was the smoke was blowing downwards. I couldn't think where it could have possibly come from. I was not smoking and neither were my friends. But even if my friends had been smoking they were nowhere near me at the time. It was strange and I never saw it at the time - only after we played the video. I wish I had seen it while I was there because we would have stayed there longer and tried to do a séance.

Next time we go that way, we are going to try and find out what made the smoke. Could it have been a German soldier having a cigarette still lingering behind? Or could there be a rational explanation for it?
I will leave you to make up your own mind to what it was and I will try my best to find out next time I'm over in France!
Click on player above to see the part of the video where the smoke was spotted. A small amount comes down the middle of the screen. But the main part of the smoke is down from the top left hand corner of the screen
Unfortunatly it is hard to see where alot of the video quality has been lost in converting the file to the player.
Thanks for looking
